Synopsis: “Jungle Fish”, a KBS 2TV youth drama, was included in the list of 36 Peabody Awards winners announced on April 1 2009. Aired in May 2008, “Jungle Fish” shed light on the serious socio-educational issue of grade falsification. It was applauded for employing a new direction method at the time. The Peabody Awards’ online site describes “Jungle Fish” as “interactive blogging was integral to the plot of this handsome film, a stylized slice of life among students at a ruthlessly competitive South Korean high school”. The drama has won other prestigious awards, such as the best youth drama at the Seoul Drama Festival and an Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Prize.
